After I put out my call for assistance for writing MDB2 docs I got a lot of positive feedback from people who wanted to help. Unfortunately nothing concret has materialized. So I decided its time that I jump start the effort by completing the bulk of step 1 in my call to action. The core API of MDB2 is now documented in the official PEAR manual. Enjoy and feel free to expand.

In somewhat related news the list of ideas for the Google Summer of Code from the PHP project now features two possible items related to MDB2. One of them was inspired by my recent talk about database schema deployment at php|tek in Orlando. The other one was proposed by Pierre to start work on an E_STRICT compliant PDO-based MDB2 build on top of PHP 5.1. Personally I have no need for this, but I know that a lot of people would be really greatful to have something like this and obviously I would give my blessings to such an undertaking.
